Windows 10 updates + Korg USB-drivers = THE fix
YAY!!! I got my prized nanokontrol (v.1) up and running again (as for the Kontrol Editor, too!), in spite of Window$-10’s recent years updates and Korg’s struggles to keep up with patching things up!
Well-knowing now that this is sort of old news, I’ve only just recently stumbled upon Ian Dixon’s Youtube-video regarding that helped me out BIG TIME, and which can be seen below:
For those of you, whom would rather read about how it’s done:
https://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2019/04/23/fixing-korg-usb-midi-driver-issues-in-windows-10-may-2019-update/?unapproved=97692&moderation-hash=1337eec6aff22cb36b32082659662d12#comment-976927
Finally Gregg Hartt kicks things home with his commentary (actually, additional fix!), which can be read close to the end of a thread, found here:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/korg-usb-driver-no-longer-works-after-windows-10/40ed9f1c-c40a-41ed-ab33-3db5c2f1440d
Follow these instructions to the letter, and it should work accordingly; if you do not know how to use RegEdit, then either stay clear away from this fix or find an IRL-friend, whom does!
(DISCLAIMER: I take absolutely NO responsibility whatsoever for these fixes and/or if you botch your Windows-registry or -installation!)
Thanks goes to Ian Dixon and Gregg Hartt, respectively, for the walk-throughs regarding how to change some certain registry-values!!!
P.S. These fixes also apply for the WIN-10 “2004”-update. too…
