O.K. well-knowing that I’ve haven’t been giving this site’s News-section much love as of late, some have been happening here at Voorhies Towers; so this will topic-wise be a somewhat varied affair this time!!.

That’s right – as you probably already have noticed this website has now now a slightly different design – which is a totally correct observation which you hereby have made!

This site’s now using a branch/varition/tweak/”whatever” of the _s-theme (“Underscores” – by the happy people at Automattic: https://github.com/Automattic/_s), which I’ve here named my offshot as: _d (as in “Underscored“).
Intended as a starter theme,  _s, or underscores, is meant to be a starting point for making “…the next, most awesome, WordPress theme out there”. Furthermore, with it’s ultra-minimal CSS, there’s less stuff to get in one’s way – in this case – tweaking and working out a more personal WordPress-theme out of it!
If you’re inspired and/or in the market for a new, lightweight (thus being therefore lightning-FAST), which you more or less can put your own design-spin on, then look no further – _s (Underscores) is the answer to your prayers!

Not that _s is new in any way, as in it’s been out for a number of years (AFAIK), but it still gets regularly updated, plus it runs fine with the latest iteration of WordPress (v. 6.1, while writing this ).

The newest update OAP (v1.0.7) now out
Yeah – if I ‘m screwing around with a (WordPress-based) website, then I’m probably – almost simultaneously also working on – or at least updating – my OAP for WordPress! Not that I’ve performed a recent major update on this plugin, but the sort of minor updates, which I just have done on it, warrants the version-numbering getting notched up – in this case to version 1.0.7!

So what’s been changed?

Well, I’ve updated the CDN-urls and their respective SRI-hashes to newly updated jQuery-libraries, which are/can be used in the OAP – and I corrected a few minor typos in the comments
Admitted, not much there – but the jQuery-, jQuery Migrate- and Instant.Page-versions’ incremental upnotchings is enough to roll the OAP out now as – version 1.0.7!

Spoiler Alert: Although the _d (Underscored)-theme is FAST out of the box, it works very well and even becomes (a little bit) faster with the OAP activated…!

Since I’ve implemented an easy way to use Google Analytics (GA4) in the OAP, there has been held a courtcase within the EU, which ended up the the verdict that…:

Google Analytic is apparently illegal in (some of ) the EU-countries
Being based and living in Denmark (DK), which is one of the countries, due to recent rulings on the GDPR, which now has Google Analytics users under fire for transmitting personal data outside of the EU!

And as the relevant powers-to-be in DK are following the recent EU-verdict, it’s now illegal to use Google Analytics for the time-being, as is! A source regrding this: https://isgoogleanalyticsillegal.com/denmark

Unlike for many other – more mercantile – websites, it’s not the end-all-be-all, if I use Google Analytics or not! However, as a consequence of all of this hoopla and (excuse my French) legal-B.S., I’ve now deactivated Google Analytics on this website, and it will remain deactivated until either Google stores personal data within the EU (if and when relevant), or if and when I find another viable alternative!
I’m not planning on throwing money after a reverse proxy-server – not for this puny, ego-driven site!

Uh-huh – after 15 years of further DJ-fun and -shenanigans, I’ve decided to soon call it a day regarding my DJ-activities under the dee3-moniker! Although I won’t be ditching my DJ-activities completely (I’ll probably occasionally (re-)appear – just for shit ‘n’ giggles – either as Maxwell Gauss or under my own IRL-name), but I will however be sundowning dee3 soon…!

Although it’s mostly been all in all – this time ’round – a fun hobby and -ride, recent life-events the past almost 5 years have all but shy of killing completely off any motivation, love and joy I’ve had doing, whatever I’ve done affliated to the dee3-name/-brand/-activities/-whatever.

I still have some dee3-related obligations that I’d like honor first, but otherwise I want out from the dee3-world – while if not being ahead of things – then before things start really going sour and/or -south!
